Data protection

The responsible handling of personal data is a matter of great concern to us. We comply with the Federal Data Protection Act and provide transparent and truthful information about the collection and use of personal data in this data protection policy - published on the website under "Data Protection". 

General: personal data

In order for our services to be targeted, relevant and used efficiently, it is necessary to collect certain data. People who are interested in Pink Cross, order information or products, subscribe to a newsletter, participate in a petition, action or campaign, or support Pink Cross financially or as a member, provide us with personal data. This data is compared with the existing address database and stored electronically. They are used exclusively for the purposes of Pink Cross. In order to maintain contact, it may be necessary to pass on extracts of this data to a service provider commissioned by us (e.g. a printer). These service providers are subject to the Data Protection Act and, in accordance with the agreement, may neither use the data for other purposes nor pass it on. Apart from this, Pink Cross does not pass on or market any personal data to third parties.

 

Mailing and telephone calls

Anyone who provides us with a postal address may be informed about current topics by post at regular intervals, unless this is expressly not desired. Mailings are usually made in neutral envelopes. The telephone number provided is for Pink Cross in the event of any queries  (e.g. for changes of address) or telephone campaigns. The age information may be used in connection with age-specific offers.

 

Electronic dispatch: e-mails and newsletters

Anyone who provides us with an e-mail address can receive information (such as payment confirmations, event notices) by e-mail. The regular sending of information, in particular the newsletter, only takes place with the consent of the interested person. Anyone who no longer wishes to receive our newsletter can easily and quickly unsubscribe via the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter. 

We use ActiveCampaign to send newsletters. The personal data of our newsletter recipients is stored on ActiveCampaign servers in the USA. ActiveCampaign uses this data to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, ActiveCampaign may use this data in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assigning it to a specific person, to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, ActiveCampaign does not use the data to write to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.

The use of our newsletter (openings, clicks on links) is stored and linked to personal data. This enables us to improve our offers.

 

Payments and donations

We treat payment data of any kind extremely confidentially. Our online donations are processed via the the payment function of the administration tool of bexio AG (to the data protection policy of bexio AG). bexio AG ensures secure and easy online payments and donations. Involved credit institutions will only receive personal data as far as it is necessary for the processing of the payment. The credit card data entrusted to us is transmitted in encrypted form to an external partner certified by the credit card industry (PCI DSS). They are not stored or analysed by us.

 

Forms and surveys

For surveys we partly use the tool of the Spanish company Typeform. Typeform has strict data protection guidelines, but handles the survey services online partly via cloud providers and servers outside the EU. Tracking and analysis tools / Social media

For the collection and evaluation, we use the web analysis tool Google Analytics of Google Inc. Google uses cookies, text files that are stored on users' computers and enable an analysis of the use of our online offer. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website by the users is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services associated with the use of the website and the Internet for the purposes of market research and the design of these Internet pages in line with requirements.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing this browser add-on. Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found, for example, in the Google Analytics Help.

The Facebook Pixel is integrated on our websites. Visiting these pages can thus be assigned to your Facebook user account. We can use this information for the display of Facebook Ads or for tracking functionalities. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. Cookies

Cookies are used on the websites we operate. These are small text files that are stored on the devices used when they are called up in order to evaluate impersonal usage data or to recognise recurring visits (e.g. language selection, shopping basket function in the online shop or donation form). We use both session cookies, which expire after the session, and permanent cookies, which only expire after a certain period of time or when manually deleted. Cookies can be deleted and deactivated at any time in the browser settings.

 

Integrations and automations

In order to guarantee a smooth user experience, to run the interfaces between the different tools and to ensure that data is transferred cleanly and automatically from one system to the other, we use the Czech tool Make. Make certifies its compliance with the GDPR here.

 

External links and third-party features

We have no influence on external content to which we link, nor on the compliance with data protection regulations by third-party providers whose functions are integrated on our websites.
