PINK CROSS is the umbrella association of gay organizations in Switzerland. It has 53 local associations, 34 shops and 2200 individual members. Overall, PINK CROSS represents approximately 8,000 homosexuals from the four linguistic regions of the country. PINK CROSS is funded solely by contributions of its members as well as from donations.
PINK CROSS represents the interests of gays in both political and administrative positions, as well as within the public eye. Through political lobbying and an active media presence, PINK CROSS intends to create recognition of the homosexual way of life as an equal among others. The secretariat in Bern informs the authorities, the media, organizations and individuals.
PINK CROSS was founded on June 5, 1993 and opened in March 1994, the national secretariat in Bern occupies permanent employees. Opened in July 1998, the secretariat Romand in Geneva occupies an employee at 40%. The PINK CROSS activities are financed exclusively through membership fees and donations.
